Suggestions for Insect reppellent tools, candles.. etc..?
Posted by: admin / Category: bbq toolsHello,
I just moved to a subdivision to where my backyard has a very small natural wetland, that I know will attract more insects than the usual to my outdoor deck. I am planning a BBQ for my husbands birthday and will be spending the day and late evening outdoors.. .I want to place candles and anything I could to prevent my company from being eaten alive.. please give me some reccomendations on what brands and what I could do to make this party eventful without the insects distracting us lol.
Thank you all!
I have found that maxi deet works the best as is 100% deets, you could also use citronella candles.
If mosquitoes are the problem treat the wetland area with some mosquito dunks.

Off! is a great brand for sprays and foggers. You should use the fogger several times before guests arrive all around your yard. Citronella candles and Tiki torches are also great decorative ways to fight off insects.

Hi,
first, you must know what kind of insect are there present in your backyard, different insect have a different repellant to be used, it can be mosquito, cockroaches, flies, ants or temites..
if you have an ace hardware in your town, you can choose what repellant you can buy, one more thing is does your backyard have weeds? if have need to cut them off first.

avoid the chemical sprays that can be irritating and sickening.
Get some citronella oil, mix it with water and put it in a spritzer, spray yourself, you can spray your outdoor tablecloth, whatever you want- it is safe- also get some citronella candles (Gold Canyon actualy has nice looking ones that are also the longest burning on the market) geto ne of these and put it in the middle of your table or get a few and put thearound the perimeter of the area you will be entertaining in. these are the only methods I use and they have proven to be very effective.
You might want to pritz some citronella oil around the area and/ or light the candles before the guests arrive.
